Opera, classical songs, folk music from her native soil: De Bique's repertoire list is wide. Reviewers speak of an endless wealth of colours and a radiant timbre. Handel: arias and duets from Belshazzar, Rodelinda and Giulio Cesare
Jeanine De Bique sings arias and some of the most subtle and sensitive duets Handel ever wrote. In Giulio Cesare the romance between the Roman general and Cleopatra blossoms. Belshazzar , about the downfall of Babylon, is, next to the Messiah , one of Handel's greatest oratorios. In the opera Rodelinda the powerful attitude of the main character in a male society seems strikingly modern. Voices and emotions merge here.
