Astor Piazzolla's music is a unique mix of traditional tango, classical, jazz, klezmer and popular music. His 'tango nuevo' conquered the entire world and could (and may) count various musical greats such as Yo-Yo Ma, Al DiMeola and Grace Jones among his fans. After Astor Piazzolla's death, his wife founded the Quinteto Astor Piazzolla, modelled on Piazzolla's own sensational quintet from the 1960s. To safeguard and promote the maestro's rich musical legacy.
The quintet has been touring the world for over 25 years. It is praised by the international press as the only musical ensemble that can match the unique and inimitable style of the great Astor Piazzolla. In other words, you can't get any closer to 'nuevo tango' as a listener!
