Silence #54: Laila Sakini
Sensory music in dialogue with the building
Laila Sakini is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and performer. In the Oude Kerk she creates her sensory music in dialogue with the building and the exhibition of Navid Nuur. Sounds recorded in the Oude Kerk, such as the pebbles tapping against each other in the installation Step by Step by Navid Nuur, are incorporated into arrangements of sparse instrumentation, subtle effects and her own singing.
