Tomeka Reid Quartet ft. Mary Halvorson, Jason Roebke, Tomas Fujiwara
Cellist known from the Art Ensemble of Chicago takes a big step as a composer with her all-star band. In her quartet, cellist Tomeka Reid gathers new heroes of American jazz around her. She recently took an important step as a composer by opting for long themes, which she brought together as a suite on her recent album 3+3. Striking in this is the special balance between the classical acoustic cello of Tomeka Reid and the flexible electronic effects of guitarist Mary Halvorson.
