Rising stars from Amsterdam jazz present their new albums. In recent years, the Bimhuis has built a strong bond with the young musicians who appear in this double concert. Guitarist Ella Zirina released her debut album on BIMHUIS Records and is now presenting the successor. And the members of the Tijs Klaassen Quintet have already played on our stage in various formations. Now this band is also releasing a new album.

Unraveler
Ella Zirina plays compositions from her new solo album 'Unraveler' on DOX Records. The album moves through different atmospheres and moods. It explores textures and techniques that express the guitar's whimsical beauty. The guitarist from Latvia graduated with honors from the Amsterdam Conservatory and was taught by Jesse van Ruller and Reinier Baas, among others.
Close group of friends
Tijs Klaassen is a much sought-after bassist in Dutch jazz. His own quintet is in fact a close group of friends. Despite their young age, the members have been playing together in various formations for almost ten years. They feel at home in the border areas between jazz, classical, electronics and free improvisation. This spring their new album 'Adhocism' will be released on ZenneZ Records and Elastic Records.
