Passionate musicians
They have been together for 20 years now, from the moment they were paired at the Amsterdam Conservatory. Since then, the biggest challenge has been to find a balance between the impressive solo careers of these three passionate musicians and their joint trio. They alternate intensive periods with the Van Baerle Trio, with weeks in which they each give their own concerts. 'An ensemble that gives each other space in a ceaseless, electrifying flow of spirituality, inventiveness, passion and lyricism', according to the press.
Piano trios by Beethoven, Liszt and Saint-Saëns
The Van Baerle Trio has immersed itself in Beethoven's repertoire. In recent years, the ensemble has recorded all piano trios, supplemented with the Triple Concerto and the Residentie Orchestra The Hague. 'Their music radiates youthfulness, supplemented by the sparkling spirituality that can give this music its special cachet,' the press wrote about Beethoven's Opus 70 by the Van Baerle Trio. This time, the musicians combine the 2nd piano trio from this opus number with masterpieces by Liszt and Saint-Saëns.
