Satomi Chihara
Satomi Chihara (1996) won third prize and the Bärenreiter Praha Prize at the 58th Beethovens Hradec International Competition (2022). During this competition, she played, among other things, Beethoven's fifth piano concerto together with the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra. In May 2022, she made her debut in the Recital Hall of the Concertgebouw. Satomi Chihara is, without a doubt, one of the young upcoming piano talents in the Netherlands. As Willem Brons's last student, she obtained her Bachelor's degree in classical piano at the Conservatory of Amsterdam in 2018. That was also the best exam of that year in her department. Based on this excellent result, she received a grant from the Jacques Vonk Fund, intended for very talented graduates. In 2020, she completed her studies at the conservatory with Naum Grubert by obtaining her Master's degree. After winning several prizes in Japan, her talent is recognized in the Netherlands. Satomi Chihara is a laureate of the Young Pianist's Foundation (2015) and the Princess Christina Competition (2016). During her studies, she gave numerous concerts throughout the Netherlands. She was also invited to participate in the International Holland Music Sessions (2017) as well as in the acclaimed 23rd-26th International Masterclass of Willem Brons in Amsterdam (2018, 2019, 2021, 2022) and the Naarden International Piano Festival (2021).
