Yogaconcert | gong soundbath, poëzie & yin yoga

A concert, poetry performance, and a yin yoga class all together. This is the formula of the weekly yoga concerts. Live improvised music, yoga postures, and mystical poetry are the ingredients for a journey inside. Veronica Vir will create a sound bath this morning, and André Meeusen will be guiding the yin yoga, which is designed around a poem by Dutch poet Vasalis. Join us at the Jungle, Tweede van Swindenstraat 26 in Amsterdam.

Waterfall

Veronica creates intuitive sounds with a large gong, her voice and acoustic instruments like the shruti box, shaman drums, and kalimba. She started working with sound and energy as a teacher of kundalini yoga. Her gong can produce thousands of tones and overtones, rippling from subtle and dreamy to an intense waterfall of sound, inviting an expansion beyond the limits of the mind: a very distinct Song of Yoga.

Yin Yoga

The calm, meditative, intense yin yoga postures allow us to sink deeper into consciousness. On the yoga mat, physical sensations flow together with the musical improvisations, taking you on a journey far away, or perhaps even closer than close, deep inside.

Practical information

Book your ticket here. The venue opens at 10:45 am, and the yoga concert starts at 11 am and lasts one and a half hours. Bring your mat, warm clothes, a water bottle and props if you want. If you don’t have a mat, you can borrow one. The yoga instructions and poetry will be bilingual.
