Rising star in jazz

Rome-born Francesca Tandoi is widely recognized as a rising star in jazz. In just a few years, she has achieved international fame as a world-class pianist and singer. Her success has a Dutch touch: she was discovered during her studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Now she performs with Brazilian double bassist Matheus Nicolaiewsky and Dutch drummer Sander Smeets.

Francesca Tandoi feels most at ease in the piano trio line-up and has released 2 albums with her current formation, When in Rome and the recent Bop Web . She has also appeared on over 25 albums, alongside top players such as saxophonist Scott Hamilton. Legendary pianist Monty Alexander is very vocal about his admiration, saying: 'Francesca Tandoi is a very tasteful swinging pianist. Her vocals are superb, her compositions are melodic and memorable, and her arrangements are exceptionally well thought out.'
